National Day of Listening

on November 20, 2010

Did you know there is something I feel is more important going on than shopping on “Black Friday?” It is called the National Day of Listening.

National Public Radio and StoryCorps are observing this day in the hopes of encouraging more people to share their family’s stories. You can go to the National Day of Listening’s website to download your free do-it yourself guide and start recording your stories. There are also other tips and ways to share stories on their site.

If shopping is absolutely on your to-do list on “Black Friday,” make a date with a family member to interview them and record their stories. I also encourage you to stop back by my blog on “Black Friday” to share one of your family’s stories.
